Specializing in Navigating Life Transitions and Inspiring Creativity & Balance
We can talk about where you are now, where you want to go, and how to get you there.
Transitions are a part of life. Sometimes they are planned, like a graduation or retirement; sometimes they arrive unexpectedly. While facing and traversing transitions can feel challenging or uncertain, with support and guidance, these periods can be truly meaningful and exciting to take on. They can be opportunities to find or create balance and fulfillment while moving into a new phase of life.
I have a passion for working with people in the midst of all kinds of transitions- those that are planned and expected, and those that have arrived without warning or invitation. Changes in work or career, or in family life can be disruptive and unsettling. They can also be inspiring and life enhancing.
My background as a highly trained violinist had many things in common with the backgrounds and developments of highly trained athletes, and I have lots of experience working with both musicians and athletes who are in transitions. These are people who devote an enormous amount of time and energy to their sport or instrument. It’s a tremendous investment that often involves long-term planning and sacrifice. Sometimes, unanticipated events, like an injury or illness, come along. Other times, ordinary or expected parts of life, such as aging out of a sport, happen. Athletes and musicians have immense talent, strength and drive, and I help them put these skills to use finding new outlets and passions, and seeing themselves in new and additional ways.
My practice in Lafayette, California also includes evaluations for eating disorders, and support for sufferers and their families. I have a passion for consulting with and training therapists, medical providers, coaches and athletic trainers, to work with people who suffer from eating disorders and related issues. I have worked in all levels of treatment for eating disorders, from outpatient therapy to inpatient and residential eating disorders programs. In addition to working directly with sufferers, families, and clinicians, I write and speak nationally about eating disorders and related issues.
